ELIGIBILITY
Who is eligible to apply?
These packages are perfect for anyone ona 2 year working holiday visa, or 3 month tourist stay.
VISAS
Do I need a visa to work in Canada?
Yes, you need a Working Holiday Visa. This visa enables young people from 18 to 31 to work in Canada up to 2 years. The visa regulations have recently changed, offering more flexibility to young Australians. To find out more, ask your OWH consultant!
BEFORE YOU GO
Where do I fly into Canada?
We work with Samesun properties located in Vancouver and Banff. For the Banff property, you can fly into Calgary and take a bus to Banff (Banff itself does not have an airport), alternatively you can fly into Vancouver and travel from there. Vancouver is the main gateway city from Australia to Canada, with Air Canada, United Airlines and Qantas offering services from Australia.
I am travelling by myself, is this a problem?
Backpackers are the best places to stay if you are looking to meet new people from around the World, as they offer very social environments. Samesun Vancouver features the famouns "Beaver Bar" which is lots of fun and will guarantee to be your favourite watering hole in Vancouver!
Can you help me with pre-arranged jobs for the summer and winter?

ON THE PROGRAM
Will I receive assistance with finding work?
These packs do not include work assistance, however, there are job boards at the hostels and the friendly staff can certainly point you in the right direction. Recruitment agencies are the best way to start your search, or looking in the local papers, alternmatively OWH can pre-arrange your job before you leave Australia with our Work & Play programs.
How does the Airport transfer work in Vancouver?
We arrange for your one-way airport transfer to your hostel in Vancouver if you purchase the Starter Pack. Just provide us with your complete flight arrival details (if you haven't booked with us), and we provide you with instructions and a voucher for you to present to your driver.
What about accommodation?
You may choose 2,4, or 7 nights multi-share dorm accommodation with free linen and towels provided. The backpacker lodges are centrally located, very clean and full of friendly travellers so you are sure to meet people straight away! We send you a voucher after your program fee has been paid confirming your details.
